Hi! ☺️
Welcome to my little corner on the internet! I’m Daphne, and I have been exploring the world solo for the last nine years. My goal is to inspire women to do the same and stop waiting for others to go with! Like, I missed Beychella (Beyoncé at Coachella) because I didn’t have anyone to go with. It likely will never happen again, and I missed it! I’m so mad at myself *deep sigh*. I like to ramble too, but anyway.
As a regular degular 9-to-5er working a job that I kinda hate, I like to share the actual costs of my travels, breaking down expenses to give you a realistic view of what it takes to get there. This blog is an honest account of everything I’ve learned and experienced throughout my journey of all 50 states and over 45 countries. I hope that I can help you on your way , even if its a tiny bit 💛

The Good, The Bad, and The Unexpected of My First Solo Cruise
I went into it with high hopes. I swear I did. But I always knew deep down that cruising was just not for me. I’m a wandering type of traveler. I never really follow a schedule; I mostly go with the flow. I visit a few must-do places at every location, and then after that, I’m a free bird with no clear sense of direction. The idea of being stuck on a ship and only having a few hours at ports to do some overpriced excursions, just no. But, I did anyway to…

The Charm of Afternoon Tea at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
This has got to be one of the most elegant and fancy blog post titles I’ve ever written. I immediately think of Mariah Carey and how she would say it, “Afternoon tea in the chateau, darling.” So it was fancy, but not like that fancy. It was a comfortable fancy. Last month, I had the pleasure of finally visiting Banff National Park! Lake Louise is located inside Banff and has been my laptop wallpaper for years. I was thrilled to see it in person, but I was also a bit nervous. Over the…

Your Guide to Music Festival Ticket Tiers: What’s Worth It?
Summer’s here, and music festivals are lighting up every month. It’s so many this year that I can’t even keep track of all of them! South by Southwest kicked things off in March, followed by Coachella in April. Essence Festival was just two weeks ago. My favorite, Lollapolazzo, is coming up in August. And in September, Burning Man closes out the summer. One of my life goals is to attend as many major music festivals as possible. So far, I have been to Essence, Rolling Loud, OneMusic, Lollapalooza, Lil Weezyana and The Roots…

The One App You Need Before Your Next International Trip!
Mobile Passport Control. That’s it. It’s one of the best travel apps that not many people are using! And best of all, it’s completely free! This post was inspired by my last international trip to Canada. I visited Banff National Park, which is extremely popular in the summer. After getting off the plane, I was horrified to see such a large crowd waiting to go through customs. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a line that long outside of the holidays! I was absolutely going to miss my connection flight, the line was…

The Best Moments from the GNX Tour
I’m late. I know. However, the tour is still going strong! SZA & Kendrick Lamar are currently touring in Europe this summer and Australia later in the fall. If you’re over in those regions, I definitely recommend going. Or if you just want to live through me, I’ve got you covered. And you know I love the lux life, so I did well by us. If you don’t know, I’m a super fan of both Kendrick Lamar and SZA! It was my second time seeing them both perform live. I saw Kendrick at…

My Comeback: Getting Back to the Things I Love
I’m back. It’s been six whole months. Like seriously? I was doing so well and being consistent, and I completely fell off. It’s a multitude of reasons. I procrastinate, I’m exhausted, and yet I’m lazy at the same time. But most off all i’m depressed. I canceled my trip to Argentina and Chile in February and lost money. I canceled and bailed out on a friend on a Virgin Cruise in April. Lost money again and a friendship. But, I did not care. I just really, really missed my grandma. She passed away…

Unlock First Class: Simple Steps to Elite Status
I fly in class on almost 85% of my trips. Yet, I am a budget traveler and have never paid for it. My first-class upgrades are courtesy of being an elite-status member with American Airlines. Today, I will expose how I have maintained elite status for the last six years. And did I mention that you don’t need an airline credit card for this? It’s simply two words: Shopping Portal. American Airlines has a shopping portal that allows you to earn miles and loyalty points for every dollar you spend at online stores.…

Sandals: The time I stayed at a couples resort alone
Oh my gawd. The title sounds so sad and pathetic! A single woman staying at a popular resort amongst honeymooners and couples. But it was not that bad! I’ve always wanted to stay at a Sandal’s resort! Way back, before I actually even started traveling solo, I was always in awe of their properties. Their commercials are so enticing and dreamy. The hotels on the beach seem so luxurious, with infinity pools and overwater bungalows. I just knew the possibility of me ever staying in one was slim to none. First of all,…

Two Weeks in Japan – My Full Itinerary
I was not even going to share this! My first few days in Tokyo this past November & December were a colossal mess. Eight years in as a solo traveler, I thought I was pretty good at this. I was wrong. I was so confused getting around, and there were so many people, and oh, so crowded, I was completely overwhelmed! Some days, I didn’t even want to leave my hotel, to be honest. It was just TOO MUCH! I’m unsure if it was because I didn’t do much international travel last year…

How to Get Up Close with Wild Horses in Puerto Rico
Wild horses on a secluded beach—there are no beach vendors, no loud and rowdy groups of people, and absolutely no large hotels obstructing views of the ocean. There aren’t even any lifeguards in sight. It’s just you, nature, the ocean, and a horse with her calf, lounging on the shore. What could be better than that? This trip was actually courtesy of my casino winnings in San Juan! While researching Puerto Rico, I scrolled across a Trip Advisor forum post about the casinos there. I’m not even a gambler; I just play slot…
