Hi! ☺️

Welcome to my little corner on the internet! I’m Daphne, and I have been exploring the world solo for the last nine years. My goal is to inspire women to do the same and stop waiting for others to go with! Like, I missed Beychella (Beyoncé at Coachella) because I didn’t have anyone to go with. It likely will never happen again, and I missed it! I’m so mad at myself *deep sigh*. I like to ramble too, but anyway.

As a regular degular 9-to-5er working a job that I kinda hate, I like to share the actual costs of my travels, breaking down expenses to give you a realistic view of what it takes to get there. This blog is an honest account of everything I’ve learned and experienced throughout my journey of all 50 states and over 45 countries. I hope that I can help you on your way , even if its a tiny bit 💛

10 Ways To Travel More While Working A Full Time Job

It’s January and the first month of the new year. And I’m sure you’re wondering how you can travel more this year while holding down a full-time job. Well, you’re in luck – because it is definitely possible! I’ve managed to combine work and travel for the last eight years – below are my top ten tips and tricks. I’m actually one of those people who prefer a routine. I follow many travelers on social media who explore the world after quitting their jobs and become digital nomads or influencers. Although I used…

  • Why Do Some Friends Become Jealous When You Travel?

Why Do Some Friends Become Jealous When You Travel?

This is more of a vent post. I hate even posing the question, but it’s become something that I’ve had to deal with in the past few years. I can’t seem to understand why people you consider friends are so weird and jealous when it comes to traveling! Like, are my only friends going to be strangers I relate to online in Facebook travel groups? Is the quick and simple answer that I honestly do not have any real friends? Or real supportive family members at that? I refuse to believe that is…

  • Top Reasons Why You’ll Love Staying at Gaylord Hotels

Top Reasons Why You’ll Love Staying at Gaylord Hotels

How am I just now discovering this amazing hotel brand?! When I lived in Nashville, I loved going to the Opry Mills Mall and spending all my money and then some. I never even paid attention to the huge Gaylord Hotel that shares a parking lot with the mall! I go to Orlando almost every year, and the Gaylord Palms always ranks high during my hotel search. For some odd reason, I just figured it was a boring, huge convention center hotel. Boy, was I wrong! After my first stay at the hotel…

The Future of This Blog: What to Expect in 2025

I can’t believe it’s already 2025! I’m super excited about the new year! I know it’s pretty strange, but I prefer odd years! During even years, things seem more stagnant and challenging – everything seems to flow better in my odd years. Maybe it’s just a me thing? Looking back, last year wasn’t too bad. I completed many home improvements (draining my savings account in the process 😕). I started a two-year photography certificate program, which means you can look forward to way better photos! Oh, and I also attended a barista academy…

  • How I Conquered my First Solo Trip to Mexico

How I Conquered my First Solo Trip to Mexico

Lately, I’ve been very nostalgic and reflective. Maybe it’s because this year is coming to an end. I’ve been thinking a lot about the content I want to write about and the future of this website. And I randomly thought about my first-ever solo trip to Mexico and how far I’ve come. Eight years ago, I may have had an early quarter-life crisis. I was fed up working, waiting for a paycheck, paying bills, and repeating the cycle. I had this crazy idea that I would start incorporating more of my favorite things…

Why I Started This Blog: My Journey So Far

I just noticed that I published twenty-eight blog posts without a single introduction! I figured my about-me section would be enough; every blog has one, but they seem so standard and repetitive. Who is the person behind the site? I guess I just really wanted to introduce myself and say hello with a big air hug! So, hello. My name is Daphne, and welcome to my website. I created this travel blog to share my experiences and insights from my trips. Over time, I’ve encountered various challenges and successes, and I felt compelled…

  • Breaking Free: Why I Chose to Travel Alone

Breaking Free: Why I Chose to Travel Alone

If you didn’t catch my brief introduction, I’ve been traveling solo for almost eight years. Throughout every trip I’ve taken, people have asked me why I’m traveling alone. It’s interesting to reflect on how my answer to that question has evolved since I first started traveling. Initially, I started traveling solo, like many others do, because I got tired of waiting for others to join me. I have a great small circle of friends, but we all have different lifestyles and responsibilities. I admit that it took me a while to come to terms…

  • Hot Air Balloon Adventures: My Amazing Experience in Sedona

Hot Air Balloon Adventures: My Amazing Experience in Sedona

On my current mission of visiting all fifty states, I took a trip out west to the very scenic Arizona. My itinerary while visiting was to explore Antelope Canyon and Grand Canyon. After visiting both, I searched for local attractions and came across advertisements for hot air balloon rides. To my surprise, it was a few who even took tours over the red rocks. During my road trip in Arizona I was obsessed with the mountains, sandstones and red rock’s. They were all so massive and colorful and in an array of shapes…

A Peek Inside the Most Beautiful Canyon in America

You know how most touristy places don’t live it to the hype? Well this was not the case while visiting Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon was my Windows desktop background on my first computer! I know it’s old school, but do you remember it? I didn’t have much information about it, but it was nice to look at. A few years ago, I looked in a travel magazine, and there it was again. The gorgeous canyon was right here in the United States; who knew? I immediately added it to my…

  • The Time I Ate Too Many Weed Edibles in Colorado

The Time I Ate Too Many Weed Edibles in Colorado

How could a small container of weed brownies reck havoc upon a short four day trip to Denver, Colorado? Such a sad and shameful tale. I can’t believe I’m even sharing it. *And in case someone from my job stumbles across the post – just know that I’m done with edibles! FOREVER! But anywho, let’s start from the beginning. Once upon a time, I booked a cheap roundtrip flight to Denver, Colorado for like $29 each way. I flew with Frontier Airlines (a low cost carrier based in Denver) who were advertising low…
