I can’t believe it’s already 2025! I’m super excited about the new year! I know it’s pretty strange, but I prefer odd years! During even years, things seem more stagnant and challenging – everything seems to flow better in my odd years. Maybe it’s just a me thing?
Looking back, last year wasn’t too bad. I completed many home improvements (draining my savings account in the process 😕). I started a two-year photography certificate program, which means you can look forward to way better photos! Oh, and I also attended a barista academy in Seattle for a future business endeavor. Last year was also great for travel, even though I didn’t do as many trips as usual. I did travel to some fairly expensive places, such as Martha’s Vineyard and Napa Valley. But, my favorite experiences were attending the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago and spending two weeks in Tokyo.
I’m unsure if anything can top Lollapalooza’s craziness and overall fun, but 2025 already looks promising in travel and the future of this blog and content creation. Since it is the new year, I created a list of five things to look forward to on the blog in 2025. I love writing down lists because seeing a visible reminder keeps me focused.
- 10 Blog Posts Per Month/2 Weekly – I don’t know why, but I feel like my blog is so empty, even though it is only a few months old! I constantly want to write more content to fill it up and make it more cohesive. I’ve noticed in the past that when I try to do too much, it leads to me being overwhelmed, and eventually, I burn out. In 2025, I plan on writing one post during the week and one on the weekend. If I have more free time during the week, I will write more, but that is the current standard.
- Weekly Videos – I’m proud to say that I have successfully recorded and uploaded my first YouTube video! It’s been a goal of mine for almost a decade, and I finally did it! I spent most of my Christmas morning practicing and recording videos. I did all the editing the following Sunday and uploaded it to YouTube. My goal for 2025 is to upload every Sunday. Many content creators I follow say that you should upload more frequently, but whew – who has the time? I know me, and that’s all I can do for now.
- More Trips – As I mentioned earlier, I didn’t travel as much last year as I typically do. I only went to one new country! Normally, I travel to at least eight or nine! But 2025 is looking better already! I have my first international trip to Chile and Argentina booked, and hopefully, I’ll be able to go down to Easter Island as well. I have two cruises booked, which will be my first cruises ever. I also plan on visiting every continent this year – even Antarctica in December or early January! This year is going to be amazing; I can feel it in my bones.
- Detailed Itineraries – I admit that I’m not the best at keeping track of what I do during trips. I’m good at writing about my activities during my trips and where I stay. But not so much about how I travel to and from and all the details in between. I still use several travel blogs to help plan trips, but my website has no detailed itineraries to help anyone plan! I honestly think it’s because I do so much on my trips, and I’m always on the go. I just don’t keep track of stuff! I will do better in 2025 with this. I just have to figure out how. Maybe start using all the cute little notebooks that I collect? I don’t know. I will make it a priority, though.
- More Trip Tips/List – I have avoided these as well, even though I use them, but not as frequently. I think it’s because I research travel so often that many things are engraved in my head. I figured that writing them would be redundant, but it’s tips that could be helpful to a new traveler! I want to start writing as if I were a new solo traveler and return to the basics. My other problem with lists is that I want to write about places I’ve actually been; it feels weird to recommend places I haven’t set foot on. Random I know, but yeah. I’ll figure it out.
So, these are my goals for this blog in 2025! All of them are obtainable because they all depend on me! Some are easier than others, like #3, but I really want to make this blog something that i’m proud of.
If you have any tips, suggestions, or comments, please leave them below! I welcome and encourage any and all types of help! Between working a full-time and part-time job, I need all I can get lol.
