After a grueling sixteen hours of flying time, my first stop in Japan was at Disneyland! I am such a big kid at heart and I love Disney parks! There are six Disney resorts across our wonderful planet and Tokyo marks my fifth. I only have the Shanghai location left to visit! My experience at Tokyo Disneyland was amazing, not only was the ticket affordable ($62), but the food was also cheap and yummy too!
I am one of those childless adults who go to Disney probably every year. At this point I go mostly for the food and atmosphere. It really is just the happiest place in the world! It’s even better at night when the stroller bound kiddies disappear and the lines get way shorter. That’s when the Disney Magic really happens.
Speaking of magic, I almost failed to get a ticket. Unlike other Disney parks, in Tokyo you have to purchase in advance because they only sell a limited amount per day. It’s really a gamble to buy one the day of at the park. If I failed to get a ticket it would have been an absolute waste because I stayed at a hotel near Disney and I planned my whole day around it. Luckily, I was able to grab a ticket the day before my visit.
The following more, I made it to Disney right at opening hour and immediately I was greeted with the fabulous aroma of coffee and buttery popcorn! Since I already had my morning fix of caffeine, I headed straight to my favorite snack of all time, popcorn! It was delicious as always, but then I started passing by different stands that were really close together. And on top of that, some of them didn’t smell like plain ol’ butter. I quickly realized that the numerous food wagons had different flavors. There was white chocolate, chocolate, caramel, salted caramel, strawberry, milk tea, black pepper, honey, curry and cheddar cheese.
But, out of all those flavors – the most unusual was soy sauce and butter and I LOVED IT. An interesting combo but it works. Now that I write this I’m so mad at myself for not getting a bucket to go!
I spent the entire day wondering around Disneyland Tokyo. From 9 a.m until 9 p.m. I took in all the sights and sounds and called it a night after the final fireworks. I enjoyed all of this wonderful food for less than $100!
After posting all of the pictures I felt like I ate so much! But after being there all day and moving so much and waiting in long lines, I didn’t feel that way at the time. I did go overboard on the sugary snacks – but it’s Disney who cares?! Surprisingly I didn’t get a churro which is one of my favs.
What Disneyland Tokyo lacks in rides they make up with low ticket and food prices. Disneyland Paris is still my favorite international location, but I’m already dreaming of my next visit to back to Tokyo’s version. With the way the prices keep rising at Disney in Orlando, if I had a family I would bring them here rather than back at the states.
What are some of your favorite foods and restaurants at Disney?! Have you been to Disney Tokyo if so did I miss anything yummy?
